Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) is a federally incorporated, not-for-profit organization that advocates on behalf of the Jewish community of Canada.

CJC is a member of a family of national Jewish organizations that come under the umbrella of the United Israel Appeal Federations Canada and that are supported by Jewish Federations across the country.  Specifically, Canadian Jewish Congress is part of a group of advocacy agencies that work with the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy (CIJA). It is this broad based structure that allows CJC to represent the Jewish community across the country.

CJC’s mandate focuses on domestic-related matters such as fighting antisemitism, as well as non-Israel-related international matters such as ending the genocide in Darfur.  CJC is a national organization with staff in three regions (Pacific, Ontario, Quebec) and representation, through local Jewish federations, in many other communities.

CJC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are drawn from coast-to-coast. The Board oversees the policy and affairs of Congress, with decisions being implemented by the professional staff.
