Whatever their background or origin, Quebecers can hardly remain indifferent to the growing intensity of the situation in the Middle East. Considering this reality, we should be proud of the collective tolerance, openness and respect that a majority of Quebecers have demonstrated at this difficult time.That said, a number of media-related incidents do suggest the need for enhanced vigilance if we do not want to risk falling into the excesses witnessed by Jewish communities in France, Belgium, Russia, Tunisia and much closer to home, Saskatoon and Ontario.
